Ceilings – Many times long after a leak has been fixed the stain remains since they cannot be covered over by painting however a better method is to put cheap drop ceilings up which will cover the entire ceiling and making it look new and clean.  Sometimes a few layer of thick dark paint with a undercoating of primer does the trick to cover water stains on the ceiling.
