Rehabbing Property on the Cheap

Fixing a property that has been neglected normally cost a lot of money however there are methods that allow you to cut corners and make the repairs look nice.

1.  Floors – Many times carpets have to be replace but there are other options.  When ripping up the pld carpet you sometimes find older carpet underneath that is still in good shape and can be left right where it is.  Many times hardwood floor is underneath and is perfectly fine the way it is.  If the flooring underneath the carpet is in bad shape the cheapest way to clean up the floor is to paint it a deck grey arcrylic color.  It stands up to alost anything and hides stains well.2. Walls – When dealing with wallpaper the easiest and fastest way to cover it up is by painting over it with several layers of dark paint.  Another option may be to use sheets of cheap wood paneling which covers everything.

3. Ceilings – Many times long after a leak has been fixed the stain remains since they cannot be covered over by painting however a better method is to put cheap drop ceilings up which will cover the entire ceiling and making it look new and clean.  Sometimes a few layer of thick dark paint with a undercoating of primer does the trick to cover water stains on the ceiling.

In conclusion, fix ups and repairs do not have to be costly and still look good.  If you have rental properties this method will save you a lot of time and money.
